At Buckeye Outfitter, bow hunting is our main focus. Gun hunting in Ohio can be great but also unpredictable. Bow hunting gives our hunters the opportunity to hunt deer that are patternable in addition to all aspects of the rut.
During the early season we focus on food sources that the deer use all summer. As the season progresses and rutting activity picks up, we move to transition areas, funnels, and thickets. As the rut starts to wind down, we again start to focus on the food sources.
Most of our farms are bow hunting only. On these farms bow hunters can expect to see, and will see, bucks ranging from 125 to 190 inch class.
When it comes to hunting big bucks, good woodsmanship is a must. The animals are smart. We encourage our hunters to take advantage of our 3d range while in camp. This allows hunters to check their bows daily, if necessary.
Crossbows are legal in Ohio. If you don't own one because of your state laws, we can provide one for you.
